Today starts National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month! Our goal this month is to spread awareness, make a difference in the landscape and raise money for our cause. Every donation matters! Every Like, Share and opportunity to spread awareness matters! As we remember the children who lost their lives due to this terrible disease I ask everyone to continue to say their names. Jayden was my son who fought twice. He deserved better! The kids who are still fighting deserve better! It’s time we all stand up and say “Enough Is Enough! The children all deserve better!!!

Common Symptoms in Parents.

Intrusive thoughts: Unwanted, distressing memories, nightmares, or flashbacks of the traumatic event.

Avoidance: Staying away from places, people, or thoughts that remind them of the trauma.

Dissociation: Feeling detached from reality, numb, or in a daze.High arousal: Extreme irritability, anger outbursts, poor concentration, or hypervigilance (being overly watchful for danger).

Impact on Family

Life Impaired parenting: High distress can make it hard to respond to daily parenting tasks or care for other children.

Decision-making difficulties: Severe anxiety can interfere with a parent's ability to participate in medical or family choices.

Risk of PTSD: If symptoms continue past one month, ASD can turn into Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
