We had a happy (despite democracy literally being burnt to the ground all around us) in for the . Genuinely missed just hanging out with our kids and my hubby at the - the kids are asking if we can go to the beach just to go to the beach one day this week. I think we're going to pack the sand toys and make a day of it before the older one is too cool to play in the sand with his little brother.

Just living the at the .... Six days out of seven we have been loving our turned and this time - we didn't all get sick and miss out on the entire thing! It's been a killer fun time and nice to finally just spend some time together as a family.

Our neighbors house caught fire from a battery their son (22) was charging on his bed. The fire went from nothing, to taking out two full rooms and mostly destroying their upstairs and attic - the son & parents lost literally everything they owned in their bedrooms, and the daughters room has a lot of smoke and water damage. I'm doing my best to help the family through Project Christmas NJ by Evans Family Lego Project this year- if you're able to help, play do.

You can make a small donation through our go find me- or let me know how you would like to help. The kids are not little thankfully, but they are both struggling through this - the mom tried valiently to put out the fire with an extinguisher but couldn't get it to work (it likely wouldn't have been enough anyway)- but she inhaled a decent amount of smoke. Our neighbors really came together - grabbing coats, blankets, shoes- as the family had run outside on a freezing cold day with nothing but the light clothing they had on.

This is a photo just after the fire was out. 🔥

Stay safe out there, folks. Let this be your reminder to change your smoke detector batteries- to have and to know how to use your fire extinguishers, and to not trust batteries from cheaply made electronics. Charge things outdoors if you must- and keep an eye on them while charging.
