📣FEMA, SBA and the State of Texas have Disaster Recovery
Centers (DRC) in South Texas. Homeowners and renters in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties may be eligible for FEMA assistance for losses not covered by insurance.
The DRCs will open Wednesday, May 28 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

You may call 2-1-1 option 1 for information on these sites and for other local resources that are available to you! 2-1-1 is available 24/7.❗️

Children ages 18 and younger
Enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old.

The City of Brownsville Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security invites YOU to the All Hazards Awareness Fair on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brownsville Public Library – Main Branch at 2600 Central Blvd.

This FREE, family-friendly event is designed to educate and empower our community—residents and business owners alike—to prepare for all types of emergencies, from natural disasters like hurricanes and floods to man-made incidents.

Whether you’re a longtime Brownsville resident or new to the area, this fair will give you the tools and info you need to stay safe and ready—before, during, and after an emergency.
