Need help applying for Medicaid or CHIP? Community Action Corporation of South Texas will be at Main Library to provide one-on-one application assistance. Representatives can help determine eligibility, explain program benefits, and guide you through completing your forms.

Assistance is available by appointment or walk-in on Mondays, September 21 & 28, from 1:00–4:00PM in Study Room 1 at Main Library. For more information, call (956) 291-0789.

We want to hear from LGBTQ+ people!

Real Mama Bears is collecting short videos from LGBTQ+ people about coming out and we’d love to hear from you.

🎥 Record a short video — less than one minute — responding to ONE of these prompts:

• What is one or two things people should say or do (or NOT say or do) when someone comes out to them?

• What is one of the best things someone said or did when you came out?

• What is one of the best things about being out?

• What encouraging message would you give someone who is thinking about coming out?

• What encouraging message would you give LGBTQ+ people who have already come out?

At the beginning of your video, please introduce yourself with your name and pronouns.

For example: “Hi, I’m Liz, and my pronouns are she/her.”

Thank you for another successful “Shine with Pride” makeup workshop! 🎨 We gave out lots of makeup and raffle prizes, including Ulta and Sephora gift cards! 🛍️ We appreciate the collaboration with Yerb, yet again, another year to come together and show off their makeup art form with our co-founder, Tiffany “Queen T”! Great way to spread love and pride, is to Shine with Pride 🌈✨
