Next month marks one year since I founded the Certified Trading Card Association.

When I started CTCA, I saw an industry with incredible passion but very little infrastructure. I knew building something meaningful would require long hours, difficult conversations, endless networking, and a tremendous amount of work. What I didn't know was how much I would learn along the way.

Over the past year, I've seen the best parts of this hobby and some of the challenges that threaten its future. I've learned things that have surprised me, inspired me, and at times shocked me. More importantly, those lessons have only strengthened my belief that this hobby is worth protecting.

Building CTCA has been stressful, exhausting, and often thankless. Many of the most important steps have happened behind the scenes where nobody was watching. But every challenge, every setback, and every sleepless night has been worth it.

Today, my conviction is stronger than ever. There is too much at stake for collectors, businesses, and future generations of hobbyists to stand still. And the more I learn, the more certain I become that this movement matters.

I know too much to stop now.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing some of the biggest lessons I've learned during CTCA's first year and what they mean for the future of the hobby.

We encourage all show promoters to:

A simple flyer can help educate attendees, raise awareness, and potentially prevent theft before it happens.
