Curious to see how local lunchrooms manage their food scraps and other organic materials?

We stopped by some of the Gold Star cafeterias in our community to see how they’re making organics management work in their lunchrooms,and we came away inspired!

How can our communities prepare for extreme heat and wildfire?

Join us October 14 at 6 PM at Grove Recital Hall for Growing Grassroots Climate Resilience: Surviving Extreme Heat and Wildfire in the Inland Northwest with Dante Jester.

Dante will share their work on climate resilience in Washington and explore what extreme heat and wildfire can mean for communities here in the Wenatchee Valley. This is an opportunity to learn more about how we can prepare for climate-related events and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Last week at MusicBox was an incredible experience for our Toward Zero Waste volunteers! Thanks to the thoughtful planning by NCW Arts Alliance, only a miniscule amount of garbage was generated at the event, everything was recyclable or compostable! We diverted 29.3 lbs of compost, 22.8 lbs of recycling and 24 w**e bottles!

A huge congratulations to NCW Arts Alliance on an incredible event, and thank you for helping make Toward Zero Waste possible. 💚

From recycling and composting to reuse and disposal, Wizzle is ready to help you make sense of it all!

Sustainable NCW is looking for new board members!

We’re looking for community-minded people who are passionate about sustainability and want to help shape the future of environmental work in North Central Washington.

We’re especially interested in connecting with people who bring diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and skills, including:

Grant writing
Marketing and communications
Fundraising and development
Business and finance
Community organizing and outreach
Environmental or sustainability experience
And other skills and perspectives that could strengthen our organization

You don’t need to be an expert in sustainability to serve on our board. We’re looking for people who care about our community, are excited about our mission, and want to contribute their time, ideas, and experience.

Our board helps guide SNCW’s direction, support our programs, connect us with the community, and help build a more resilient, equitable, and environmentally sustainable future for North Central Washington.
