Trailblazing toward zero waste! 🌲

The recent TREAD Trailblazer Awards were a big success—and not just because of the incredible people we celebrated. With support from Sustainable NCW, the fully catered event for 120+ attendees generated ZERO garbage for the landfill.

The event diverted 4.8 lbs of recyclables and 14.4 lbs of compostables, with attendees doing a great job putting the right items in the right bins. That composting effort alone helped prevent an estimated 14 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions.

A big thank you to Rick and Sustainable NCW, our caterer, and everyone who helped make this a practical example of community-powered stewardship. That’s something worth celebrating!

We had a wonderful time at the TREAD Community Award Night honoring our volunteers Mike S & Mike P for their dedication to our Sustainable Bike CoOp! Congratulations to all the other people and organizations who were honored. We have such a strong community!

Every week this summer, bikes are finding new homes in our community. Every single week!

This is possible thanks to the incredible work of our volunteers, donors, and staff who keep bikes moving from collecting donations and refurbishing bikes to running our Bike Corral and weekly giveaways.

There are so many ways to get involved:

🚲 Volunteer at the Bike Corral and help with our weekly bike giveaways
🔧 Join our Part Out Party on August 6th and help us take apart bikes for reuse
🛠️ Come to Open Shop to learn new skills and help rebuild bikes
🚴 Bring your bike to Triage Tuesdays and learn how to get it back on the road
