I gave the following message to my Brooke High FBLA officers, and I wanted to share with all my students and families regarding upcoming FBLA events and community service projects that will be available from Brooke High FBLA, the back-to-back West Virginia Chapter of the Year…

I have really been thinking about you all the last couple days in addition to dealing with my own grief and anger. Everyone copes and everyone’s timeline to process is different, so if you are not up to doing something or wanting to participate or be around people, I more than understand. I’m with you.

At the same time, I don’t want to allow this horrible action and pain to be compounded by taking away all the commaderie and helpful activities that we do together every year. Not having our FBLA Chapter together and achieving would add to my sadness, as watching your growth is a point of joy that I look forward to each year.

I plan on continuing to provide opportunities for our students to work with each other and the community beginning with our FBLA Tailgate Friday. If you’re not up for it or if you are up for it to have a little bit of fun, both are truly acceptable and understandable feelings. As always, I just want opportunities to be available for you.

Unfortunately, life sometimes gives us tragedy that we do not deserve. The only choice we are given is how to respond to it. As always, I’m here for you if you need me!”
