A hallmark day for my stamp project - on Monday I will ship kit #1,000. I made up a special "more deluxe than usual" kit for a gentleman in Bedford, MA. I ship kits to people around the world at no charge to them. I want to thank the many people who have generously donated stamps, covers, plate blocks, and postage to my project. I would have run out of material long ago if it wasn't for your help!!! I really appreciate your help.

I enjoy creating these kits and have received many wonderful notes from people who have received my kits. This is one of my favorites:

I just received the stamps in the mail today and when I opened the huge manilla envelope, I was stunned! I could not believe my eyes! All of the stamps are so different, so unique, so amazing! My Free Stamp Kit project is continuing to go well. I have now shipped over 500 kits. This is a recent article on my project from Linn's Stamp News. I updated the list of countries I have shipped to and it is now 37 different countries!

Michael's Stamps - Free Stamp Collecting Starter kits have now been sent to over 450 people. If you would like a free kit, please write me at [email protected] - there is zero charge for these kits. I include photos of a recently mailed kit. If you are someone with lots of extra stamps, as is usually the case with serious collectors, or if you find yourself with a collection and don't know what to do with - donating your stamps to our kit program will allow many people to benefit from your stamps. Each kit sent in the US costs me around $5, not including the cost or value of the stamps. Your support is appreciated and for new collectors - send me an email to order a kit - [email protected]

I am pleased to have a short article on my Free Stamp Collecting Starter Kits program in a new online publication from the American Philatelic Society - called StampEd. Thie magazine itself has a shorter 2 page version of the article and here is their link to the full article.

I was recently asked what I thought one could do to help the hobby of stamp collecting to grow. I was happy to answer this question as I have been working on a project to support new collectors for the past year: Michael’s Stamps – Free Stamp Collecting Starter Kits.

It has now been a year since I came up with the idea of providing people with free Stamps Collecting Starter Kits. So have sent out around 180 kits to date, going out to 15 different countries. These are some samples of stamps sent out recently.
