American Legion Wellington Post 176 The current iteration of Wellington Post 176 was chartered in 2019.

The American Legion is the largest wartime veterans service organization with nearly 2 million members and more than 12,000 posts in communities throughout America. The mission of American Legion Wellington Post 176 is to enhance the well-being of Wellington's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion's vision statement i

The American Legion's value principles are as follows:

A VETERAN IS A VETERAN - which means The American Legion embraces all current and former members of the military and endeavors to help them transition into their communities. SELFLESS SERVICE - which means The American Legion celebrates all who contribute to something larger than themselves and inspires others to serve and strengthen America. AMERICAN VALUES AND PATRIOTISM - which means The American Legion advocates for upholding and defending the United States Constitution, equal justice and opportunity for everyone and discrimination against no one, youth education, responsible citizenship and honoring military service by observing and participating in memorial events. FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - which means The American Legion meets the unique needs of local communities. ADVANCING THE VISION - which means The American Legion educates, mentors and leads new generations of Americans. American Legion Post #176 would like to thank Girl Scout Troop 76062 led by Maicie Lingwall and Mandy Coy and Troop 77873 led by Kayla Folger and Kate West for their assistance in placing flags at the graves of Veterans buried at Wellington's Highland Cemetery in recognition of Veterans Day 2025. The Scouts also spent the day cleaning up the cemetery and tidying up around all graves. Troop leaders helped the Legion identify 17 more veterans' graves that we will continue to recognize during Memorial and Veterans Day flag posting activities. Thank you Troops 76062 and 77873! We appreciate your time and service to our departed veterans.

We lost a member of the legion recently. Mike wasn't with us long, but the impact he made will be with us for years to come. Fair winds and following seas friend.....

It is with great sadness that The Wellington Fire Protection District announces the passing of Board Member and longtime resident, Mike Amicarella. We will greatly miss his guidance, wisdom and leadership.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Jane and family during this difficult time.
