Our pets are family. Period. ❤️🐾
They trust us completely. We choose their food. We fill their bowls. We trust that the companies making that food are doing everything possible to make sure what we’re giving them is safe.
That’s why this is so upsetting.
A new investigation tested 100 of the top-selling cat foods across 62 brands and found lead in 99% of the samples, cadmium in 96%, and arsenic in 94%. Other contaminants were also detected.
As a rescue caring for dozens of cats every single day, this hits especially close to home.
We understand that detecting a contaminant does not automatically mean it is present at a level that will cause illness. But when our animals eat the same foods day after day, year after year, pet owners deserve transparency, rigorous testing, and higher standards.
These aren't "just animals."
They are our family. They sleep in our beds. They greet us when we come home. They sit beside us on our worst days and somehow know exactly when we need them.
Our pets can't read labels. They can't research ingredients. They can't choose another brand.
They depend on us... and we depend on these companies to do better.
Our animals deserve better. And as the people who love them, so do we. ❤️🐾
Please read and share this investigation. Pet owners deserve to know what is in the food we're trusting to feed our family.
A new investigation into cat food found toxic chemicals in nearly all types and brands.
