S&S hit the road today with Jessica Campbell and our amazing volunteer Alanah Perez! It was one of those days that truly reminds us how lucky we are. We started by driving around, looking for folks who might need some winter gear and food for this upcoming weather, and we had the chance to meet and chat with some wonderful humans. We wrapped up the day at the Presbyterian Night Shelter in Downtown Fort Worth – they are absolutely doing the Lord's work! It was packed with women, men, and children waiting for shelter from the storm, and we were able to distribute all of your generous donations to so many people! Thank you all so much; we couldn't have done it without the donations and support from our incredible community! We're praying everyone stays safe and warm through these next few days and finds shelter.

With cold weather arriving tomorrow, Jessica is heading out today to distribute coats and blankets to those without safe, warm shelter.

We made another visit to the Palo Pinto Nursing Center today, and we left with our hearts more full than when we arrived.

We came to offer care, comfort, and a little bit of beauty… but what we received in return was so much more. We were surrounded by stories etched into faces, hands that have carried decades of love and loss, and eyes that still brighten the moment someone takes the time to truly see them.

We met a couple who have spent 44 years choosing each other, and even in the moments of forgetfulness and repeated stories, the tenderness between them felt like a quiet kind of magic… the kind that settles into a room and lingers. But it wasn’t just them. Every person who opened their world to us- every smile, every story, every soft “thank you”- reminded us how sacred these moments are.

There’s a holiness in caring for people who don’t always get to feel pampered or noticed.
A sacredness in cutting someone’s hair while they share pieces of their heart.
A sweetness in being their comfort, their joy, their therapist, or simply a safe presence.

We walked in to serve, and left carrying their love, their memories, and their light in our own chests.
This is the soul of The Scissors & Soul Project.
These moments, these people, stay with us. ❤️✨

Today was something truly special - the kind of day that reminds you just how powerful love, kindness, and connection can be.

We had the absolute honor of serving nearly 30 amazing souls. Each with their own story, smile, and spirit. Many of them hadn’t had a haircut in months, and it was so special to watch how something as simple as a haircut could lift someone’s entire energy.

The laughter, the conversations, the joy that filled the room… it reminded us why we started The Scissors & Soul Project in the first place - to use our craft to give back, connect, and spread love in our community.

Seeing those smiles, and witnessing the confidence bloom again in each person… that’s the real reward.

Our hearts are so full tonight. Thank you to every single person who sat in our chairs and trusted us today. You’ve given us just as much as we gave you.

Here’s to many more days like this - filled with grace, gratitude, and good souls. ✂️🤍

Hi sweet friends, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Chatney, and together with my dear friend Jessica, we have started this little project straight from the heart. Both of us have walked through our own hard seasons, and because of that, we feel called to give back to the community in the way we know best: with a pair of scissors and an open heart.

Cosmetology is in my roots. My great-grandmother, Ann Boyles, started the Weatherford College Cosmetology program, and I’m proud to carry on her legacy in a way that goes beyond the salon chair. For me, a haircut isn’t just about hair—it’s about dignity, hope, and reminding someone that they matter.

The Scissors & Soul Project is about more than styling—it’s about serving. Whether it’s at a women’s shelter, a senior center, or anywhere love is needed, we want to bring light, connection, and care to those around us.

This is just the beginning, and I’m so thankful you’re here with us. I can’t wait to see the beauty and difference we can create—together. 💛✂️

Hi everyone! I'm Jessica campbell, a local hairstylist located at Hair Layne! I'm so excited to introduce you to The Scissors and Soul Project! ✂️💖 My friend Chatney Stone and I are starting this nonprofit right here in our hometown of Weatherford, and it means the world to us.

Growing up here, I've always felt a strong connection to our community, and I believe in giving back. With my skills as a hairstylist, I wanted to find a way to help people feel good about themselves, inside and out. The Scissors and Soul Project is all about providing free haircuts and styling services to those in need, helping them gain confidence and a fresh start.
