One of the things we do REALLY well at Parker County Women’s & Newcomers Club is BOOK CLUB! 📚

And yes, we read books. 😂 But somewhere along the way, Book Club became about so much more than the book.

We’ve gathered around beautiful holiday tables, crowded into living rooms, spent blazing Texas summer afternoons beside sparkling pools…and I’m pretty sure we’ve even managed to keep meeting through a drought or two. 🤣

But when I look back over the last five years, what I remember most isn’t necessarily what we read.

I remember the women. I remember the laughter. I remember the conversations. I remember the memories we made.

Of all the things I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of during these years, some of my very favorite memories happened at Book Club. 💜

And that’s really what Parker County Women’s & Newcomers Club is about. We have many different clubs and activities for women throughout Parker County…but underneath all of them is an opportunity to show up, find your people, and make some memories.

So if you’ve been thinking about joining us, maybe Book Club is your doorway in. 📚☕️❤️

Come for the book.

Stay for the women.

There are moments in an organization that are ceremonial…and then there are moments that remind you why you belong. 💜

At our recent PCWNC meeting, as leadership passed from one president to the next and our new officers were installed, we were reminded of the way female elephants live in the wild.

When one member of the herd cries out, the others gather around her. They close ranks. They protect her. They stand shoulder to shoulder, intertwining their trunks in a powerful picture of unity, strength, and belonging.

And the message was simple:

So it is with us.

PCWNC is more than meetings, programs, and events. It is women standing beside women. Friends celebrating one another, encouraging one another, carrying one another through difficult seasons, and making sure no one has to stand alone.

Watching one group of leaders honor what had been built and then place that trust into the hands of the women who will carry it forward was incredibly moving.

Leadership changes. Seasons change.

But the circle remains. 🐘💜

Here’s to our outgoing leaders, our new officers, and every woman who helps make PCWNC a circle of strength. 💪 💜

☕️ COME JOIN US THIS FRIDAY! ☕️

PCWNC is excited to welcome Nelly Hill of Piamonte Specialty Coffee as our featured speaker this Friday, August 14 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church on Main Street!

Nelly was born in Colombia, South America, and 26 years ago made the United States her home, where she met the love of her life, Richard. Together, they built a beautiful blended family with one son, two bonus children, and five grandchildren. ❤️

But Nelly also brought something very special with her…a family legacy.

Inspired by her heritage, her faith, and her late father’s dream, Nelly and Richard created Piamonte Specialty Coffee, bringing their family’s single-origin Colombian coffee from the mountains of Manizales, Colombia, all the way to Texas.

And this is about so much more than coffee.

Every cup helps support more than 50 coffee-picking families on her family’s farm while creating connections and serving communities right here in Texas.

For Nelly, coffee is a story of faith, family, legacy, and service.

And apparently, there is one more lesson we all need to learn Friday morning… 😂☕️ Life is too short for a bad cup of coffee…only accept the best!

Come hear Nelly’s story, enjoy some wonderful fellowship, and start your Friday morning with the women of PCWNC!

See you Friday! 💕☕️

P.S. I can personally tell you this coffee became very special in our family. My daddy loved Nelly’s coffee because, for him, it was one of the coffees he could enjoy without the acidic discomfort he experienced with others. That alone made me a fan…but knowing the family and the story behind every cup makes it even better. ❤️☕️

History doesn’t have to be boring!

This months women’s club we was filled with laughter, learning, great conversations and a behind-the-scenes look at the exciting filming happening right here in Parker County!!!

Thank you, Thomas Saunders V, for reminding us that history isn’t just something we read about…it’s something we get to live. 🙂 From six generations of ranching to the incredible people and places that make Parker County so unique, we were reminded why preserving our heritage matters.

Good friends. Great stories. Lots of laughter. And a whole new appreciation for the place we call home.

I’d call that a pretty great afternoon. 🤠💜

Y’all… this is going to be one of those “only in Parker County” programs. 🤠💜

The Parker County Women’s & Newcomers Club is thrilled to welcome Thomas Saunders as our featured speaker.

Thomas is a 6th generation Weatherford rancher, longtime Stock Show Director, member of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse, and part of a ranch story connected to the Taylor Sheridan world.

He’ll be sharing a true Parker County legacy — from cattle drives across the Mississippi, to Civil War-era beef supply, to the foundations of the Fort Worth Stockyards, to the work of raising cattle, training horses, and stewarding land today.

This is more than a speaker program.
It’s Parker County history, ranching, family legacy, and a little bit of cowboy charm all in one. 💜

You won’t want to miss this one!

💜🎓 Come See Us at Belk Today! 🎓💜

One of my favorite things that we do through the Parker County Women’s & Newcomers Club is help raise scholarship funds for local women pursuing their education at Weatherford College.

Today, Pamela and I are hanging out at Belk starting at 10:00 AM, and we’re excited to be part of a program that gives back to our community in such a meaningful way!

Every scholarship represents a woman taking a step toward her future, and that’s something worth celebrating! 🙌

If you’re out and about today, stop by, say hello, and help support a great cause. We’d love to see some familiar faces, share a few laughs, and cheer on the women working hard to achieve their dreams.

See you at Belk! 💜

Bonus truth: Pamela and I are fueled almost entirely by coffee, determination, and community spirit today. Come rescue us with a visit! 😄☕💜

What a beautiful day with the incredible women of the Parker County Women’s and Newcomers Club 💐

Today was our annual fundraiser filled with laughter, friendship, generosity, and a whole lot of style. We kicked things off with our annual fashion show featuring some of our wonderful new members modeling fashions from Queen B Boutique and Peacocks Feed — and let me just say… these ladies absolutely lit up the room. ✨

After the runway fun, we moved into our basket fundraiser where members donated beautiful baskets to help support the work and mission of our club. It’s always amazing to watch a room full of women show up for each other with such joy and enthusiasm.

There’s just something special about women gathering together — encouraging one another, laughing together, building community, and making new friendships feel like old ones.

Today was a reminder that the world is truly run by those who show up❣️ 💜
