Greetings Rancher renegades!
We were contacted by a fellow disaster relief organization. They will be headed to Mineral Wells to provide trauma relief to those in need through their Therapy Donkey program.
Someone has donated some hay to their organization but it needs to be transported from Commerce Texas to Granbury Texas. It's approximately 2 and 1/2 hours.
They don't have any way to transport it themselves, and they're reaching out to see if anybody is willing to help them. This is the message we received from them earlier today:
"Good Afternoon Morgan!
First, let me thank you for what y’all do at Rancher Navy! Outstanding!
We’d like to help, if you find it appropriate.
My name is Tracy Miller, and I’m the co-founder and President of T.E.X.A.S. Rescue. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescuing donkeys, horses, and mules. Our primary focus is the use of our donkeys as Therapy Donkeys in the mental health field. Our donkeys work with Veterans, first responders, autism, special needs children and adults, hospital and hospice visits, educational speaking engagements, schools, churches, and more. We also have a “Therapy Donkeys - Emergency Response Team” that responds to natural disasters, within Texas, with our donkeys as shoulders to lean on by victims and first responders in traumatic events. We do this in conjunction with Hood Co. Sheriff’s Office and their Mental Health Team
We are currently waiting on approval to deploy to Springtown and Runaway Bay to offer our donkeys. We will be seeking approval for Mineral Wells today, as well.
So, to my point. We have a Texas hay farmer willing to donate round bales to our rescue, because he believes in what we do for the community. I told him that we would also donate some of his donated hay in emergency situations, as our way of giving back.
