Children who are experiencing emotional instability, often due to family trauma. For what ever reason, these children are unable to cope with their current living conditions. A Place for Grace is not a correctional institution. It is an Independent – 24 hour Basic Child Care facility that provides specialized help for those children who need another chance in life. Boys and girls, ages newborn to
13, are considered without regard to race, religion, or ethnic origin. References are usually made through friends, family members, schools, physicians or psychologists along with other children’s agencies. A Place for Grace is operated entirely through personal income, contributions, and fund raising events. A Place for Grace receives no State or Federal funding. A Place for Grace was accredited through the Texas Association of Christian Child Care Agencies, Inc and authorized to admit up to sixteen children from newborn to thirteen years of age. A Place for Grace is a non-profit, charitable, tax-exempt, Texas corporation. The corporation is overseen by a Board of Directors made up of business men and women from the surrounding communities. All gifts of money, stocks, bonds, property, or gifts-in-kind are tax deductible. A Place for Grace was established through prayerful consideration of individuals as an outreach from a local Independent Fundamental Baptist church. The children at A Place for Grace will attend the local church and be involved in all activities provided by the church. The highest spiritual, moral, and ethical values are upheld and taught. The children at A Place for Grace will attend public or private Christian schools depending on the need of each child. Some children have been failures in the public school system socially as well as academically. Since 2019 A Place for Grace had established six homes and a Christian Academy overseas. We have three homes in Myanmar in the cities of Tedim, Kalay and Tamu. These facilities are in the construction phase with the one in Tamu operating in its current location with 15 children and two staff. We have two homes in Africa, one in Lunga Lunga and one in Turkana. The home in Lunga Lunga has 24 girls with five staff members. The home in Turkana houses 15 children with two staff members. In addition, we have a Christian Academy in Lunga Lunga that we feed over 400 children daily, both spiritually and physically. The Academy has 10 staff and volunteers. Our largest overseas home is in Manipur, India. There we have 35 children along with seven staff. This facility is not only our largest, but it has a new water well, indoor restroom facilities and separate areas for girls and boys.
