FCS Basic classes made personal pizzas 🍕 today!! This past week we discussed grains, the different types of flour available and watched a video on how wheat is processed into flour!! Today we tied that knowledge into using flour and greek yogurt to form a dough!! They also learned about correct measurements in recipes and how to knead dough!! Not many pictures were taken... but we had some pretty happy students 😊 If your student loved their pizza the recipe is included in this post!!

Today FCS students participated in a kitchen measurement lab!! We used a recipe for a "Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie" where students measured out the ingredients to take with them and finish baking at home. The dry ingredients and vanilla were provided, 2 tbsp butter and an egg are needed at home to finish preparing and baking the 🍪

If a picture is emailed/parent squared TO ME they will receive 25pts Extra Credit for completing!! This does NOT have to be completed tonight, any time over Thanksgiving break is great!!!! Completion of the cookie is not required, but most students were excited to finish!!

If there are any problems getting ingredients or baking at home students have been advised to reach out to me and other arrangements for their cookie preperation and/or baking will be made!!

This should be a fun project to complete at home and continue learning about kitchen measurements!!! As always, if anyone has any questions please contact me!!!!

To wrap up our Unit on Nutrition students in FCS classes made healthy smoothies as well as figured their calorie content in the recipe/ per serving! Each team got to select the fruit/yogurt flavor/liquid/optional kale or spinach... of their choice to make it their very own recipe!! Ask your kiddo if they enjoyed their smoothie 😉

HUGE shout out to these super hard working kids!!! Today was our Community Service Project day in Wayne!! Students from Wayne FCCLA gave up their Saturday afternoon to show up and pull weeds, sand benches/pipe, paint and put out fall decorations at the community park. So proud of these kids and their commitment to community service 👏❤️ 😁

We will be running the Zombie Eyeball Toss and the Mystery Sensory Boxes that need candy for the kiddos!!!!! 🎃 🍂 🍁

Attention Friends!!

Tomorrow night this BEAUTIFUL Quilt goes up for Silent Auction!!! Auction begins tomorrow and runs through 10/28. Pictures do NOT do this quilt justice, so come by and CHECK IT OUT!! We will be next to the Concession Stand at the Homecoming Football Game!!! 🐾

The quilt will be showcase again at Fall Carnival and SOLD to the TOP bidder from the Silent Auction that evening Tuesday, October 28th at 7:45pm. 🎃

We had a great day in FACS Basics classes!! After discussing "MyPlate" we were able to conduct a Food Lab discussing some tropical fruit that is not so common in each household. Students were allowed to assess by site, touch and taste the following fruit!!

Pineapple 🍍
Kiwi 🥝
Pomegranate
Guava
Papaya

Thursday the FCCLA students did an amazing job raising money for their program at the Pink Out football game!! 👏 😊 ❤️

Money raised helps with FCCLA event fees, providing food/activity money for meetings, community service project supplies and more!

A BIG thank you to EVERYONE that helped to support these kiddos!!!! Thank you all!!!!

Support the Wayne Bulldogs as they play Velma!!!

The FCCLA will be painting faces at the football game again, find us by the concession stand!! Also, support these hard-working students as they sell Raffle Tickets (flyer is attached) and Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! All funds raised from face painting/raffle/cookies help support the local Wayne FCCLA chapter!!!
