Kahoka Chapter #40 O.E.S

Kahoka Chapter #40 O.E.S Kahoka Chapter #40 Order Of The Eastern Star under the jurisdiction of Grand Chapter of Missouri We are a part of the Masonic Family.

Kahoka Chapter #40 Order of the Eastern Star is a very active Chapter of O.E.S under the jurisdiction of Missouri Grand Chapter. We exist for the soul purpose of social fellowship and doing charitable work for our community and our world. The Worldwide Charity project is Service Dogs (companion and functioning for the blind and crippled) Each State Jurisdiction leadership chooses the charities to

be focused on each year and Chapters work to raise funds for these charities. Charities often include Shriners Hospitals, some kind of specific cancer research, Service Dogs, etc. In 2023 we are working to support Shriners Hospitals, Dogs on Duty and Tunnels2Towers. Locally our chapter worked in conjunction with the Masonic Home of Missouri to provide a check of $44,313.90 to one of our local Elementary schools for playground equipment badly needed. Although we are a separate organization, we have close ties to Freemasons, a fraternity that works for charity as well, but does most of their work behind the scenes not flashing it before others. We are members of that fraternity and their female relatives, (biological, adopted, or by marriage) To become a member you contact us and petition to be initiated into our Order. Our order is not a religious denomination, but the morals and lessons we teach come from five heroines of the Old and New Testament scriptures. Needless to say if you do not believe in God, you will not be interested in our Order. Having said that, there is nothing denominational about our Order and doctrines are left up to each member. Our membership ranges from all different denominations both Catholic and Protestant. We encourage you to contact us if your are interested. And if you don't live in our vicinity we will connect you with a chapter near you.
