What's better than giving books to kids? Seeing their smiles when they realize the books are theirs to KEEP!

Thanks to the generosity of the Kings Bay Submarine Officers Spouses' Charitable Association (KBSOSCA), ALL the 1st graders at Woodbine Elementary School received a hardcover copy of the storybook titled, The Prince and the Witch and the Thief and the Bears!

When Jamie and his Dad create a bedtime story, a predictable fairy tale soon transforms into an energetic, hilarious story of bears and princes jostling with broccoli-wielding frogs, evil-eyed ninja witches and jewel thief princesses. The illustrations are just as engaging as the story! I'll put a link to this book below if you want to check it out.

This book was gifted to the children at the end of September. We are grateful for the KBSOSCA's continued support of our mission to put books into the hands and home of our local children!!

BOOK DELIVERY DAY! 📖💗

Over 230 wholesome, engaging books were delivered to Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School and Woodbine Elementary School for their kindergarten & 1st grade students for their homes! Can’t wait to see pictures of the students with their new books!

Someone recently asked me: Why are the same schools and grades receiving books this year? The answer is Great Books for Kids has grants & donor funds earmarked specifically for these schools/grades.

If you are interested in having book donations at your classroom, school, or daycare, I’d love to expand our reach! We will need to find an organization, local business or independent donor that would like to support your students & I can take care of the rest!

And if you are a local business who would like to make a positive, lifelong impact on local children by handing out books in your store or finding a school to support, let’s chat!

📖 Look at those NEW BOOK SMILES! Logan and I sure do love seeing photos of children enjoying the books Great Books for Kids gifted to them!

The kindergarten students in Mrs. Crabtree's class and the other kindergarten classes at Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School all received a copy of Ted in a Red Bed for their homes! 🧸 🛏 📖 Each book has a QR code on the back that leads to an audio track of the story being read aloud!

GUESS WHAT?? We earned all of these books - 106 books total - FOR FREE because of all of you who shop in our PaperPie bookshop and purchase books for your own readers. THANK YOU!!!

I'll drop our link in the comments to our bookshop, so you can check out all the high quality books, activity/sticker books, jigsaw puzzles, STEAM kits & learning resources that we absolutely LOVE!

Look at those NEW BOOK SMILES! 🤩📖

We recently gifted a new book to every 1st grader at Woodbine Elementary School, thanks to a generous grant from the Kings Bay Submarine Officer Spouses’ Charitable Association (KBSOSCA)! Great Books for Kids is grateful for the opportunity to put books into the hands & homes of our local children & spark a lifelong love for reading - and we couldn’t do it without community partners!

These photos are from August’s book donation. The students had the opportunity to select their own book from the Very First Reading boxed sets. Each book in the set is vibrantly illustrated and fun to read.

Just gifted a new book to the fantastic folks at Coastal Kids Dentistry on St. Simons Island for their kids’ area. It’s from one of our very favorite series: LIFESIZE!

Each of the 5 books in this nonfiction series shows animals or parts of animals in their real size, including this spider crab! There are a ton of fun animal facts to read, too. I’ll put a link below to all the books so you can see them all!
