Yesterday, Congressman Brad Schneider convened community organizations, local leaders, and elected officials from across Lake County to hear directly about how ongoing ICE activity continues to impact our communities.
CIP was at the table to share what we are seeing and hearing firsthand from immigrant families—the fear, uncertainty, and very real consequences these actions are having in their daily lives.
We will continue to elevate immigrant voices in important spaces like this one, ensuring that the experiences of our community are heard, understood, and part of the conversations shaping decisions that affect them.
Also joining the conversation were Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham, North Chicago Mayor Leon Rockingham, State Senator Adriane Johnson, State Senator Mary Edly-Allen, Waukegan Park District Commissioner Anton Matthews, and College of Lake County Trustee Celeste Flores, alongside other community leaders and organizations from across Lake County.
Thank you, Congressman Schneider, for bringing leaders together to listen, learn, and stay connected to what is happening on the ground in our communities.
Our community deserves a voice at every table.
