Wauconda Woman's Club

Wauconda Woman's Club The Wauconda Woman’s Club was organized in 1929, and in 2024 celebrates its 95th anniversary.

We are a volunteer organization with the purpose of promoting various community projects, cultural programs, and leadership among women. We are members of the General Federation of Women‘s Clubs (GFWC), which is over 130 years old, the GFWC Illinois Federation of Women’s Clubs, which celebrated 130 years in 2024, and GFWC Illinois, 10th District General Federation of Women‘s Clubs. The Wauconda Wo

man’s Club efforts and projects focus on GFWC’s Community Service Programs for study and participation. Headed by an elected board, the club has committees that devote time and resources by participating in the following areas:

Arts and Culture
Civic Engagement and Outreach
Environment
Education and Libraries
Health and Wellness

Volunteer service is also provided for community needs such as Veterans, Scholarship fund, Food Pantry, as well as various other local, state and international charities. The majority of our club‘s charities and donations are supported by our one large annual fundraising event.

A big thank you to all the women who came out Wednesday night to learn about the mission of the Wauconda Woman’s Club. An extra big hug to Threads owner and member, Linda Starkey, for partnering with us, hosting the event. Growth within our club helps us shine our light brighter in the community.
