Friends of Roman Nose will be hosting a Spring Fling event as a temporary replacement of our annual FORN Trout Derby due to lake repairs. Our Trout Derby is our main fundraiser, we use to pay for the fireworks we provide at Roman Nose State Park. Please come to this Free Family event!! Ticket can be purchased from any Friends of Roman Nose member for our Grand Prize this year of 1,000 CASH. Winner will be drawn at the Spring Fling event. Winner doesn’t have to be present to win. You can use this QR Code to purchase a ticket for the Grand Prize!!

Let Cheesy introduce you to Plains Collective: This C&A Tribal project is the result of the Roman Nose brothers desiring to bridge and work with the city of Watonga and the surroubding communities in the C&A footprint. Plains Collective is a non-profit organization and is dedicated through mutual respect, shared strength and productive partnerships that benefit community as a whole. Plains Collective is partnering with the city of Watonga, the Watonga Cheese Festival committee, and Roman Nose State Park to bring art, culture, and history of the Native American to the surrounding communities through participation in the Cheese Festival this year. Our working together will be the root of our success and the fabric of our history and foundation of our future. We are better together!

We had a wonderful Friends of Roman Nose Trout Derby!! These are the cash winners for this year’s Trout Derby! Each day of the derby we gave a 100.00 check to our Sr. Daily Heaviest Fish caught and each day we gave a 50.00 check to our Jr. Daily Heaviest Fish caught. This year these daily winners were ;Friday Sr. Don Briix & Jr. Anna Nichols; Sat. Sr. Don Briix & Jr. Jakobi Moulder; Sun. Sr. Don Briix & Jr. Samantha Bannen. Our Sr. Single Heaviest Stringer winner for the whole derby Charles Phillips received 100.00 and the Jr. Single Heaviest Stringer of the whole Derby Easton Brush received 50.00 check. We gave out a 150.00 check to Charles Phillips our 3-day Combined Heaviest Stringer winner. From all of our adult entries, we drew the winner of our Grsnd Prize. The winner of the Grand Prize ( Pellet Grill) was Brian Seymour from Enid, Ok. We had lots of door prizes that we drew for frim all of the entry tickets. Thank you to all of our Sponsors and community partners who donated cash and door prizes.

Family fun and fishing starts this Friday at 7:00 am. We have added some of our family activities to this updated flyer!! Contact one of our Friends of Roman Nose members for a ticket. Adults tickets are 20.00 and the Junior tickets are 10.00. These prices are for the whole weekend. Adult tickets make you eligible for the drawing of the Grand prize whether you fish or not and you don’t have to be present.

Friends of Roman Nose Trout Derby will be coming up on March 14,15,16 . We will be having family activities available too. On Saturday, there will be crafts and games from 1-4 pm. Also, we will have face painting on Sunday 10-12.pm . Come register for the Trout Derby . Tickets can be purchased before the derby at the General Store or from a member of the Friends of Roman Nose.
