In December 1984, the late Graham Layton and Zaka Rahmatulla’ who were retiring from their very successful business careers, decided to establish the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust with Rs 1 million ($ 66,000). This was used to build and run a mobile eye-hospital in Tando Bago a small town 250 kilometres east of Karachi. They envisioned an organization which would grow to provide free eye trea

3 million children in Pakistan are living with blindness.
No child should have to navigate the world in darkness.

Through free eye care and nationwide awareness campaigns, LRBT is working to prevent needless blindness and restore sight to those who need it most.

Spread awareness. Help save sight. Change a life.

The days of Eid will pass, but the gift of sight can change a life forever. 🌙💙

This Eid-ul-Azha, because of your kindness, thousands of mothers saw their children’s smiles clearly again, fathers returned to work with dignity, and grandparents witnessed the joy of Eid surrounded by family.

Your support during these blessed days of Dhul Hijjah didn’t just restore vision — it restored hope, independence, and precious moments that many feared they had lost forever.

But tonight, thousands are still waiting in darkness for their chance to see again.

As this holy season comes to an end, let us not allow the light of giving to fade. Together, we can continue bringing sight, joy, and new beginnings to those who need it most.

Eid Mubarak from all of us at LRBT. ✨

At just 9 years old, Amna began losing sight of the stories she loved most. The pages of her favorite books slowly turned into a blur.

But because of your generosity, her story did not end there. Your donations helped bring her world back into focus — giving her the chance to learn, dream, and see her future clearly once again. ✨

This Eid, your Zakat can do more than restore sight. It can restore a childhood, a sense of hope, and the future every child deserves.

Help us rewrite more stories like Amna’s.

Our elders are the pillars of our communities — the keepers of wisdom, culture, and family traditions passed down through generations. They deserve to see their loved ones clearly, live with dignity, and access the best eye care without the burden of financial hardship.

At LRBT, we are committed to providing free, high-quality eye care so every senior can continue to live with independence, confidence, and respect.

Anum Siddiqui, a dedicated therapist at LRBT, sheds light on the silent emotional struggles that often accompany blindness — the anxiety of dependence, isolation, and the impact it can have on mental well-being.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we are reminded that sight is deeply connected to dignity, confidence, and emotional well-being. By restoring vision, we do more than improve eyesight — we help individuals regain independence, reconnect with loved ones, and rediscover hope. 💙

When a child struggles to see, a mother carries that burden every single day.
The missed milestones, the difficulty in school, the fear of what the future may hold — it all takes a quiet emotional toll.

At LRBT, we believe no child should lose their sight because of poverty, and no mother should suffer helplessly watching her child struggle with preventable blindness.

Through free eye care, screenings, surgeries, and treatment for children across Pakistan, we are not only restoring vision — we are restoring hope, confidence, and peace of mind for entire families.

A child’s clear vision can brighten a mother’s world too. 💙

Mental health and vision are deeply connected. The ability to see loved ones, work independently, and experience the world with clarity plays an important role in emotional well-being and quality of life.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, LRBT reaffirms its commitment to restoring not just sight, but hope, confidence, and dignity for millions across Pakistan. By eradicating preventable blindness and providing free eye care to those in need, we help individuals reconnect with life, family, and opportunity.

Because seeing a brighter future can change everything. 💙
