REMEMBER, IF YOUR VOTE DIDN'T COUNT, NO ONE WOULD CARE ABOUT IT.
DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE WHO SAYS YOUR VOTE DOESN'T COUNT.

Your voting power begins at the local level.
Make sure you are registered and learn about the dates and positions up for election in your area.

Local officials decide things like how your city taxes are spent, and who gets resources and other support in your area.

Learn about voting. Go to your local Board of Elections (175 Arsenal St in Watertown). Go online and ask questions (also see sites like election.ny.gov or vote.gov, etc.)

Attend city council meetings (3rd Mondays, 7pm at 245 Washington Ave in Watertown) and school board meetings. These representatives are elected to speak for you. If they don't, vote for someone else.

NYS Voting Dates (Dates can differ by state and area):

June 13 - Jun 21 : Early Voting for Primary Elections

June 23 - NYS Primary (selects candidates for each party for the General Election on Nov 3)

October 24 : Deadline to register for General Election

November 3 : General Election (this year is for seats in the US Senate and House of Representatives and for many state governors)
