Project Intentional is a grassroots Omaha nonprofit with a big heart that was founded on a simple but transformative belief: dignity is the foundation on which hope is rebuilt. Our mission has been to intentionally restore dignity in women and families—one project, one story, and one moment of impact at a time. Since its founding in 2020 (born out of a simple desire to “adopt a mom” at the holiday
s) they’ve grown to help hundreds (and thousands) of caregivers and children, distributing hygiene products, installing “Hope Lockers” (free hygiene banks), and more. Born out of lived experience, community insight, and a deep conviction that no one should walk through hardship alone, Project Intentional exists to meet families where they are with compassion, practical resources, and a sense of belonging. We serve the overlooked, the overworked, and the overwhelmed—those who are doing their best but still falling through the cracks of traditional support systems. Each year, we unite nonprofits, local businesses, volunteers, and organizations across Omaha to create large-scale, no-cost community experiences that break cycles of scarcity and isolation. Our annual holiday event at Baxter Arena adopts 350 local families, connecting them with more than 75 resources, nonprofits, job opportunities, hygiene products, warm essentials, and gift cards—ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels seen, valued, and supported. This past season, every family received socks, hygiene products, coats, and a $150 check—not only meeting immediate needs with dignity, but also empowering families to make choices that best support their household. This initiative injected $51,750 directly into the Omaha economy, creating a meaningful local ripple effect and strengthening the very community we serve. Our purpose is not just to provide items, but to foster lasting restoration. We design every initiative with intentionality, dignity, and community at the center. Whether we are stocking a pantry, hosting a family event, or coordinating emergency support, our goal remains the same: to bring light into difficult seasons and empower families toward stability, confidence, and hope. Why this matters: Dignity matters. Whether it’s a pack of socks, hygiene items, or simply being seen and supported — Project Intentional is meeting where the need often goes unseen. Project Intentional is not simply a nonprofit—it is a movement of compassion rooted in partnership, community trust, and the belief that when people show up for each other, transformation becomes possible. Everything we do is guided by this purpose, and we are committed to stewarding it with excellence, integrity, and heart. Be Intentional, Be the CHANGE.
