Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Is there someone that might be able to pick up some groceries for a local mom tonight from Waterford Pick n' Save between 6-7 and then drop them off in the Buena Park neighborhood? Please message if you are available and I can get you details

Posting one more time for a local nursing instructor that has had to convert to online instruction and does not have high speed internet. She has reached out to the provider offering free access to our local students, but they could not help. Does anyone else here have other ideas/suggestions?

What do you need Waterford? Upcoming projects...

1. In the next few days, we are hoping to have a few albums in our photo section of books/puzzles that members would be willing to pass along. Items can be picked up (contact free), sanitized and re-distributed. Further details to come. Meanwhile, if you have an item, you can start messaging photos to WDYNW

2. Compiling a directory of local businesses in the greater Waterford area with updated information on hours, services, etc. If you know a local business owner (or are a local business owner), please message WDYNW information you would like to be included. We will need a few volunteers to help with developing a comprehensive list of businesses and making contact to make sure we get accurate information out there. Message if interested

Thanks everyone!

Lots of new likes today! For new members - The primary purpose of this page is to allow those in the greater Waterford area to have a way to reach out for help confidentially and for those who want to help to be able to volunteer. With that in mind, if you volunteer to help please remember that asking for help is hard, and please respect the privacy of those involved

1. If you have a need that you feel comfortable posting here - go for it!

2. If you have a need that you don't feel comfortable posting publicly, please message What do you need Waterford (WDYNW)? Your request will be kept confidential and posted on this page without any identifying information. WDYNW will then make arrangements to help you out with any volunteers, etc

3. Keep in mind all volunteering must be done in a way to adhere to social distancing recommendations - most appropriate way to handle this can be figured out depending on the circumstances

4. When you see a post and feel like others should see it, make sure to keep it at the top of the feed - do this by typing the word "bump" in the comments section. This will ensure we keep our needs visible. Let's start with this post - please bump after you read so all our new members know what we're about!

We have a local healthcare provider working in the hospital (hat's off to all those working in the hospital right now), who is also a nursing instructor, who is now being asked to teach online and she has no home internet access. The academic institution has advised this person to use internet at work, however, hospitals are limiting all personnel to be there for essential work functions only. I am only guessing at this - but knowing how working from home has strained the IT infrastructure of so many businesses, I can only imagine that it is hard for colleges to support getting all of their instructors set up with what they need. The teaching is being done using a product called Blackboard Collaborate. Anyone have any creative ideas/solutions? Thanks everyone!

Do you know any local Waterford/Rochester small business owners that are struggling right now? Ask them to like our page. Maybe there’s something we can do to help them out!

Idea... how about a community book/puzzle exchange? Do you have one to give? Looking for a new puzzle to keep you busy? Or a new book to read? Message WDYNW (What do you need Waterford). We can hook you up!

Let’s help each other out! These are tough times and asking for help is hard. With that in mind I am creating this page to help those in our community reach out for what they need in a less intimidating format. If you have a need - no matter how big or small, send a private message this page. I will post our community needs and everyone following can pitch to help. I will coordinate the rest. I am not asking for money - we can all give our time, talents etc.

One rule, as I said, sadly asking for help is hard. If you volunteer please be mindful of that and respect everyone’s confidentiality.

Let’s go!! Start the invites!
