The TURF Teen Center The vision of The TURF Teen Center is to provide teens with a safe place to find confidence, determination, and direction to help build responsible futures.

The TURF Teen Center is an innovative nonprofit teen center designed around the interests and needs of teens in grades 6th to 12th in Camas, Washougal, and the surrounding area. Our mission is to provide a safe place that offers free programs for teens during after-school and unsupervised hours encouraging students to develop mentally, physically, and emotionally. We serve students in 6th-12th gra

de and provide ongoing programs and resources to help parents navigate through the teenage years. Because student safety is our primary concern, the TURF Teen Center will be managed by experienced, well-trained, pre-screened professional volunteers and teens. We will rely heavily on the volunteer and financial support of the community to keep our programs free for students. The TURF Teen Center will obtain grants from foundations and community organizations, year-round fundraising, and build partnerships with community businesses for sponsorship opportunities. Every investment to the mission of The TURF Teen Center is taken to heart, and we will maximize every dollar we receive. The TURF Teen Center is built by the community, for the community. What’s in a logo? The TURF Teen Center logo represents direction, friendship, growth, and community
The compass represents motivation and inspiration. As a symbol, the compass signifies bringing motivation to a person feeling lost. It gives a sense of hope and inspires you to follow your heart and your rightful path. Also, compasses always point North, a direction that symbolizes progress, betterment, and inspiration. The compass symbolizes independence, as it assists in moving out of our comfort zone and into unfamiliar territory. It also signals confidence in our ability to find our way and not become lost. Finally, the compass symbol can also represent never forgetting your roots and always being able to find your way back. This is especially symbolic for young people or travelers, about to move on to the next chapter of their lives. The past, present, and future as depicted by three interconnecting triangles signify the connection of knowing our past contributes to our uncertain present and looking forward to our optimistic future. Showing respect and acknowledging that The TURF Teen Center will sit on the native lands of the peoples of the Lower Columbia River, the crossed arrows are used to represent an alliance, friendship, and community.

We’re working hard to officially become a nonprofit and be able to host fun pop-up events for the amazing teens in our community 💚

We’ve launched a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of our 501(c)(3) filing fees and fund the fun — from movie nights to game hangouts to tie-dye and tacos.

The TURF Teen Center: Your Questions Answered!

We’re so excited about the support for The TURF—a safe, fun, and welcoming space for Camas and Washougal teens (6th-12th grade) to hang out, play games, explore interests, and build real-life skills while connecting with friends and mentors.
