To mark the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Federal Communications Commission recognized four leaders advancing accessible communications through policy, innovation, and research. The 2025 Chairman’s Awards for Advancement in Accessibility were presented to:

Victoria Bond, for developing emergency response protocols for ASL users in Arizona

Greg Hlibok, for decades of leadership in relay services and accessibility policy at the FCC

Nikolas Kelly, for developing AI-powered ASL translation tools at Sign-Speak

Dr. Christian Vogler, for his groundbreaking telecom accessibility research at Gallaudet University
