After a Monday off for Memorial Day the Washington Noon Rotary met this past Monday (6/1) for its regular weekly meeting. The club was fortunate to have four students present who were recipients of Rotary scholarships to introduce themselves to the club. Pictured with Rotarian John Rebholz (left to right) are Elli Pake, Alexis Alligood, Delaney Brewer, and Javonn McCall.

Our guest speaker was our own member David Kemsley who gave a most informative and fun presentation on some practical uses of AI.
David presented a live demonstration of some of the things you can do with Chat GPT, one of the most popular AI sites. Thanks, David, for a most exciting presentation.

Pictured first is the winning team of John Paul High School and members Bobby Getz, Seth Seymour, Grant Pastor, and Aster Collie. Also pictured are members of third place teams Bayview and fourth place PWM of NC (no names available). Just a reminder that the Rotary Golf Tournament is this Friday and we still have a few spots left for teams if you have a team you would like to include in the festivities. Also note that the weather forecast is now showing a perfect day for golf on Friday with clear skies and a high in the low 70's. Couldn't ask for better weather than that!!

Washington Noon Rotary held its weekly meeting this past Monday and two of our members were honored to start the festivities. A big yearly tradition of naming the club's Rotarian of the Year went to Pam Anderson this year for exemplifying the Rotary motto of "service above self." Shown is President Tom McCluskey with Pam and the Thomas S Payne plaque award showing the names of recent past recipients, including Pam.

The next award shows Tom presenting member John Rebholz with the Paul Harris plus one pin award, a significant Rotary achievement recognizing service to the club in numerous ways.

Our guest speaker this week was Debra Torrence, Director of the Arts of the Pamlico who informed the club of the many activities of the Turnage Theatre. Pictured are handouts shared by Debra showing events from last year, recurring events, as well as sponsorship opportunities. The last picture shows member John Tate who presented our speaker standing with Debra on his left and beside Debra is Grace Bowers, Program and Community Coordinator for the Turnage.
