Volt Energy Utility Partner and Sharing the Power Foundation Board member Eric Grant spoke to graduates of the Coalfield Development Workforce Readiness and Professional Success (WRAPS) program in Huntington, West Virginia. The program prepares members of the Appalachian communities for work in renewable energy, construction, agriculture, light manufacturing, and more. Congratulations to our February 2025 WRAPS graduates 🎉▶️ Nafiys Abdullah, Alexis Miller, Mone Parker, Andrew Rardon, and Randy Ross have completed the program and are moving forward in their careers.

Coalfield Development is a nonprofit organization based in Huntington, West Virginia, that is rebuilding the Appalachian economy through economic development and workforce training initiatives that provide career pathways to transition from a reliance on coal to opportunities in renewable energy and other sectors. Volt and Sharing the Power Foundation presented a check to Coalfield Development to continue their efforts.

The holiday season allows us to reflect on our community and the impact we create together. We're reflecting on our mission to fulfill a critical need in our community: advancing environmental justice and fostering an inclusive, clean energy future. We have proudly supported a range of organizations committed to these goals. From urban communities to rural areas transitioning from carbon-based industries to renewable energy, our partners are making a difference. 🌐👏🏽

These organizations include Appalachian Voices, the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, Coalfield Development, and Virginia Interfaith Power & Light, among many others. From all of us at the Sharing the Power Foundation, we wish you a joyful holiday season.
