Celebrating a lifetime of service! πŸ–€πŸ’›

We are honored to recognize Bob Barron for his lifetime of service, partnership, and unwavering support of Purdue Extension and the Daviess County community.

Bob was recognized Thursday evening at the Daviess County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting at the 4-H Grounds in Washington, by Dr. Angie Abbott, Associate Dean of Agriculture and Director of Purdue Extension at Purdue University, and local Purdue Extension representatives.

We are incredibly grateful for Bob’s many years of friendship, leadership, and support. His commitment to Extension and to the people of Daviess County has made a lasting difference.

Thank you, Bob, for a lifetime of making our community stronger!

Reminder: today is PROJECT PICKUP at the Exhibit building until 4pm. If you are unable to make this time work, please reach out to the Extension Office at 812-254-8668 and set up a time to pick up your project, comment cards, and ribbons from the Indiana State Fair.

Due to our office moving, we do not have the capacity/space to store projects as we have done in the past. Projects will be discarded if they are not picked up or have a plan to pick up.

We appreciate your assistance in this!

There is something truly amazing about making the Grand Drive at the Indiana State Fair! πŸ†βœ¨

We are beyond excited and incredibly proud of our four 4-H youth who earned the opportunity to walk into that ring with confidence, dedication, and pride.

The quality of livestock and level of showmanship at the Indiana State Fair is truly top level, and our 4-H youth have worked hard to be among the best. The hours of practice, preparation, early mornings, late nights, and countless moments spent working with their animals all came together for that one incredible experience.

We couldn’t be prouder of these four young people and all they have accomplished. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for 4-H are shining examples of what this program is all about.

Congratulations to Landrey Krieger, Aubrey Ferguson, Emma Yoder, and Braylee Bennett.

Purdue Extension is looking for volunteers to assist with tax preparation services across Indiana.

The VITA program is an IRS initiative designed to support free tax preparation service for the underserved through various partner organizations. This service helps low-to-moderate income individuals, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speakers file their taxes each year.

Yesterday, Daviess County was again well represented at the Consumer Clothing Fashion R***e Competition at the Indiana State Fair. Ani, Lilly, and Stella modeled their completed outfits selected through their 4‑H Consumer Clothing project. All three participants were evaluated on creativity and presentation. They all did amazing and we are proud of their efforts and skill shown on stage. Way to go!
