The Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO, proudly honors the remarkable career of Cecil Roberts as he retires as President of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA).
A dedicated Vietnam veteran and a powerhouse in the labor movement, we especially want to recognize his continued, exceptional service as the President of the Board for the UVC.
President Roberts fought for a lifetime to secure health care and pensions for miners and veterans alike. His leadership, voice, and spirit will continue to inspire us.
Thank you for your service to our nation and to our movement. We wish you a long, healthy, and well-deserved retirement!
