NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang made headlines after predicting that America’s next wave of millionaires won’t come from Silicon Valley — but from skilled trades like plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC. He explained that as AI and automation reshape white-collar jobs, the demand for skilled hands-on labor is exploding, especially across construction, energy, and infrastructure.

The U.S. is currently facing a record shortage of over 500,000 skilled trade workers, while large-scale projects — from semiconductor fabs to renewable energy plants — are driving wages higher than ever. Many electricians and plumbers now earn over $100,000 annually, with zero student debt and strong job security.

Huang’s statement reflects a shifting reality: while the world races toward digital innovation, it still runs on physical infrastructure — and those who build and maintain it are becoming some of the most valuable professionals in the economy. The future millionaire, it seems, might be the one holding a wrench instead of a laptop.

As a charitable organization, we understand that taking a strategic approach in fulfilling our mission can set us apart from many. For this reason, instead of reaching out directly to schools, this year we decided to partner with local charities and/ foundations with access to underprivileged students of local communities in Ghana. Through the introduction of Owura Owoahene Acheampong, Friendz discovered the Gloria Lardi Adakurugu Foundation GLA II of Ghana. Our team collaborated and provided her foundation with school supplies including exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners and crayons for over 200 pupils at the Frimponso D/A Basic school at Anyinam in the Atiwa East District of Ghana. Access to school supplies is a challenge to the school and students, and we are happy we were able to put smiles on their faces with the donations.
