DC Mennonite Voluntary Service The Mennonite Voluntary Service unit in Washington, DC serves God through serving community MVSers are a quick walk, Metro-ride or bicycle ride away from work.

MVSers in DC can work with organizations in areas that include health, education, homelessness and poverty, advocacy, policy and law, immigration, religion, the arts, and with issues of race, gender and class. Each year, we have openings at 10-15 organizations serving a variety of populations. Located in the Colombia Heights neighborhood, there are many income levels and people from a myriad of cu

ltures. The house is three miles north of the Capitol building, two miles north of the White House. The three-story unit house can accommodate six MVSers, each with their own bedroom. The DC unit is unique in that it has three supporting congregations: Hyattsville Mennonite Church, Community House Church, and Washington Community Fellowship. Each congregation offers its own perspective, but all three share a common vision for serving underprivileged people.
