HIV in Black communities isn’t just a health issue, it’s a justice issue. Black trans and nonbinary people, especially transmasculine individuals, face some of the highest barriers to prevention, care, and treatment due to racism, transphobia, and medical discrimination.

At Trans In Color, we know that healthcare must be affirming, accessible, and rooted in equity. Today, we uplift Black trans voices in the fight to end HIV—because our survival matters.

World AIDS Day reminds us of the work still ahead to ensure Black and Brown trans communities have access to life-saving care, resources, and support.

At Trans In Color, we’re here to disrupt stigma, amplify voices, and demand equity for those living with or impacted by HIV.

Because when our communities flourish, we create a world where HIV is no longer a barrier but a story of power.

July 4th - What does freedom mean to Black transmasculine people? In a world that constantly denies us our humanity, safety, and rights, FREEDOM remains a distant dream. We are here to challenge that narrative, to dismantle the systems that oppress us, and to create a space where we can thrive unapologetically. We are not asking for permission to exist. We are demanding our RIGHT to live freely, authentically, and with dignity. Our fight is not over. Until every Black trans person can walk this earth without fear, without discrimination, and without violence, our struggle continues. We are powerful. We are the revolution. Join us. Stand with us. Fight with us.

Our freedom is non-negotiable. 🏳️‍⚧️🖤✊🏾

TW: Violence/Death

With heavy hearts we, mourn the tragic loss of Alex Franco, a cherished member of our community. Alex’s radiant spirit illuminated the lives of everyone who knew him, and the void left by his absence is immeasurable.

Alex, 21, was killed in Utah on March 17 where 3 people have now been arrested.

Alex was more than just a dear friend; they were a beacon of kindness and love, leaving a mark on all who crossed his path. Though he has departed from this world, their memory will forever be with us.
As we navigate this profound loss, let us come together to support Alex’s family. In honoring his legacy, we can contribute to funeral expenses here: https://everloved.com/life-of/alex-franco/donate/

Rest in power, Alex 🕊️
