It takes the lessons, trials, & triumphs of previously existing groups and transforms them into a long term sustainable and completely independent body. It creates groups and committees for multiple different areas of interest
KURDS promotes what its members are passionate about and uses their passion to make successful events. KURDS demands that all members respect one another and that every member’s voice is heard. KURDS is all inclusive. Anyone of any background can join. No one can be removed except by a 2/3 majority vote. A constitution will be drafted with the help of all members. KURDS is tired of the drama that has crippled previous organizations. Disagreements are taken care of in person. A good number of activities will focus on teamwork to strengthen the bonds of friendship between members. KURDS listens to the suggestions of youth leaders to continuously reform itself. KURDS also LOVE Lots & Lots of field trips, activities, and events! Current discussions about field trips have included trips to Ellis Island, The United Nations, and Monticello! Current ideas include support for the AFC soccer team and creating sub groups of that team that focus on younger groups and co-ed teams. Other ideas include working with a well established youth oriented Ezidi dance group to teach interested members old methods of Kurdish dance.
