Something wonderful is happening in the Catering Department of Heart In Heaven’s Vocational Training Program!

As part of their practical test, our students baked items and sold what they made so they could purchase the ingredients needed for the second item they will bake for their exam.

They are not only learning how to bake; they are learning responsibility, teamwork, and entrepreneurship. They are seeing firsthand that their skills can create value and help move them toward self-sufficiency.

We are so excited about their growth and determination. This is hope in action — futures being shaped one skill at a time.

Gratitude Shout Out!!! 💖

Yesterday, my heart was deeply touched. 💛 The result of a birthday fundraiser created by my dear sister, I received a notification that $356.43 had been given to support Heart In Heaven. Out of a heart of compassion, my darling sister reached beyond herself to bless others in need in our birthplace of Liberia. 🇱🇷

This is what generosity looks like.
This is love in motion, love that sees and transforms.

Because of that beautiful choice, and every person who gave, lives will be touched. Hope will rise. Dignity will be restored. And light will shine a little brighter in places often overlooked.

Juliet, this kind and thoughtful gesture means so very much to me. Thank you very much, Sissy, for turning a birthday into a reflection of God’s heart.

Yesterday, I had the joy of visiting one of our Digital Academies in Liberia for Career Day—and the energy was inspiring. Students came dressed as nurses, doctors, lawyers, teachers, business leaders, and military personnel, sharing why they aspire to each path.

I commend our dedicated staff and administrators for encouraging our students to dream. Events like these remind us that education does more than teach lessons—it sparks dreams, builds belief, and equips children to pursue a brighter future.

It brought me joy interviewing one of the trainees in our vocational catering program, and her story was deeply encouraging. After learning practical catering skills through the program, she took what she learned and began making and selling donuts for a profit, turning her training into a small business opportunity.

This is exactly the kind of transformation we pray for—skills becoming income, confidence becoming action, and opportunity leading to hope. Every life empowered through this program is a step toward greater dignity, sustainability, and brighter futures in Liberia. 💛

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with the head of our Restore Savings Group initiative in Liberia. 💛

While work of this nature is never without challenges, my heart is encouraged. Hearing firsthand how things are going and how lives are being strengthened through savings, small business growth, and renewed hope fuels my passion to see this tool uplift Liberians and transform their lives.
