Hello Warren Youth Soccer League Families,
While our registration system allowed players to request a coach or teammate, we have always communicated that a request is simply a request and cannot be guaranteed.
With over 365 children currently registered, it is not possible to accommodate every request. No matter how hard we try, honoring some requests would inevitably mean disappointing other families whose requests could not be fulfilled.
The only exception to this policy is siblings. Siblings are guaranteed to be placed on the same team (when registered in the same division) unless a family specifically requests otherwise.
This season, our draft system was designed with the goal of creating more balanced teams throughout the league. While adjustments may be made when necessary, it is simply not possible to satisfy every request while maintaining fairness for all players. Last year, countless hours were spent trying to accommodate requests, and despite our best efforts, it became clear that doing so fairly for everyone was not achievable.
As in previous seasons, volunteer coaches and sponsors are permitted to retain a limited number of players. However, we cannot build entire teams based solely on requests. Our coaches generously donate their time, and many of our sponsors provide financial support that helps keep Warren Youth Soccer League running. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and commitment to our players and community.
We understand that these changes may be disappointing for some families, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and support. What we can promise is that regardless of team placement, every child will have the opportunity to enjoy a fun and rewarding season, make new friends, learn new skills, and create lasting memories.
