Dixie Crow Chapter Memorial Day
Andersonville Historic Site
23 May 2026
The Dixie Crow Chapter was delighted to be called upon once again to prepare and provide lunch for the 300+ Scouts and volunteers at the Andersonville Historic Site on Saturday, 23 May of Memorial Day weekend once the posting of American flags on all the grave markers was complete. The Dixie Crow Chapter food crew prepared grilled hot dogs, baked beans, chips (donated by Frito Lay), snacks & cookies and drinks. We are truly grateful to have the opportunity to support the Scouts and Park Rangers while honoring our Veterans who have sacrificed so much for this great nation and our freedom.
We had an outstanding crew of Dixie Crows to assist with flag placement, food preparation and event hospitality: Ken & Lisa Cirilli along with grandsons Cole & Leyton, Rod & Robyn Brooks, Betsy & Lenwood Moore and niece Annie, Mike Callaway, Scott McGuffin, Adam Delestowicz, John Lewis, Mark & Martha Leslein, Jim, Girlie, Robbie and Daniel Gordon, Debbie Koenig, Dallas Hathaway, Mike Hopf, Barrett Batten and Alexi Zanders – Thank you all!!!!
This Memorial Day we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms. Their courage ensured that we continue to live in a nation defined by liberty and justice.
As we gather with family and friends, let us reflect on the impact of their service. Their legacy lives on in the values we uphold and the opportunities we cherish.May this day serve as a reminder of the debt we owe to those who have given all. Let us honor their memory by striving to build a future worthy of their sacrifice.
Thank you, Dixie Crows, for all you do!!!
