Warm Springs Commissary by WSCAT

In the midst of a power outage following a windstorm throughout the community, the Solar Strackers were on schedule to be erected. We all were afraid of the high wind warnings and was blessed with minimal wind gusts while these solar arrays were erected.

The solar power will provide power to the Commissary building to help reduce the cost of electricity.

When actitive, these solar Strackers will rotate with the direction of the sun. It will withstand winds up to 120mph.

These Strackers are an amazing sight. (They are not currently connected and will not move until connected)

We are moving forward.... Seeking outdoor art sculpture artist to create an outdoor sculpture that will live in the outdoor pavilion area of the WSCAT Commissary Project.

FREE FILL DIRT: on Campus next to Commissary Construction Area. Fill dirt piles closest to the construction fence. Free for the taking but please be respectful to the rest of the area.

This amazing piece of art spans 40’x16’ on side of the Commissary Building. The artists Winona Garrison, Charlene Moody, and Alyssia Scott created a masterpiece that depicts Warm Springs amazingly!

Thank you to the Warm Springs Hotshots for completely dismantling and reinstalling higher up to its current location. It looks amazing!

Mural Artists: 2nd meeting

Warm Springs Commissary Project is in search of Tribal Member Mural Artists.

A 2nd informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept 6 at 4pm at the Warm Springs Community Action Team Office. This is a repeated agenda.

In search local mural artists who have the skill and ability to work together with other artists to complete a large scale mural for public display.

CALL OUT TO ARTISTS: "GREETINGS FROM....."
In partnership with Visit Central Oregon, the WSCAT and the Warm Springs Commissary is in search of local artists to create a large scale mural. The mural will be a unique piece of art that would create a "Greeting" to all our local residents, visitors and those just passing through.
The "Greetings From" mural will be placed on the exiting Warm Springs Commissary Building, located on Campus. The Mural will be similar in nature to the "Greeting From.." murals that exist throughout Central Oregon but with creative that is unique to Warm Springs. Certain guidelines need to be met.

A meeting is tentatively set for Tuesday, August 29 at 12 noon at WS Community Action Team Office., where all necessary information will be shared. -

Public Meeting Notice:

The Warm Springs Community Action Team (WSCAT) is applying to the USDA Rural Development, Community Facilities Loan and Grant Program for funding of the Commissary Small Business Incubator project. WSCAT is seeking $450,000 in funding. WSCAT will hold a meeting open to the public to discuss project progress, discuss the application, discuss how community-based entrepreneurs can access office and retail space at the Commissary, and provide an opportunity for the public to comment. The meeting is a requirement of the USDA application.

Small business entrepreneurs who are interested in managing a space in the future WS Commissary, please join on for a luncheon meeting.

Things are still rolling…. Building has been on its foundation.. the foundation for the Painted Pony Coffee Shop/Deli is being poured this week..
we are working on interior designs of building and exterior designs for pavilion area…
