WappingersRises within the village almost real-time.

- Is a Grassroots effort by village residents aimed at bringing us closer together as a community and to attract strong businesses, families, and individuals to the Village of Wappinger’s Falls. In order to promote this effort- we are asking that everyone (residents, visitors, businesses, village: Police, Fire, Highway, Recreation, Historical, Business, Civics, …etc) please include the hashtag in your posts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and any other social media. This will give the general public a single source to access information ( announcements, events, live music, food/drink specials, historical facts, volunteer opportunities…etc.)

Over the weekend we celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the Wappinger Dahlia Show! 🌸

Thanks to the incredible vision of , the support and infrastructure from , and the amazing teamwork from and — all working together to turn an idea into a reality.

This revival is about more than beautiful blooms. It’s about honoring the history that grew right here.

We honor N. Harold Cottam, who started the show, and the dahlias he cultivated right here in Wappinger — blooms that became part of our community’s story.

We honor and remember Alex Bartlett, who is deeply missed by so many here in Wappinger and beyond. He was so very missed at the show this year.

We celebrate and support the local businesses, organizations, growers, artists, and neighbors who make events like this possible through their time, talent, and sponsorships.

And for just a moment, we pause to look at where we’ve been, appreciate where we are, and imagine where we can go next — together.

Here’s to 125 years.

And here’s to , who simply said, “I have a vision. Let’s do this together.”

Continue to follow the magic that is community farming over at and we know you’re already following 🙌🙌🙌

The Carnwath Community Farming Third Annua Seed Swap was a hit! CCF is a local nonprofit that gives residents a place to grow food, and we also grow food and flowers to donate back to the community.

Any remaining seeds from the event were brought to the Grinnell Library, where CCF actively manage a small seed library.

If you’d like to stay connected, sign up for their newsletter and get involved to volunteer!

Calling all resident gardeners, the Town’s sponsored Carnwath Community Farming will be hosting a Seed Swap at the River Valley Arts Center on East Main Street in the Village of Wappingers Falls. They will have native seeds to share, you’re also welcome to bring your own and swap! This is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and get a jump start on your Spring planning. Joining the event will be Stonykill Farm, Dutchess Land Conservancy, Cornell Master Gardeners, Verplank Garden Club, and Evergreen Minds. The event is January 22 from 5:30-8:30 and light food will be provided. Come for a bit, join the whole time! It’s going to be a great event and we hope you make it! Event is free and open to all!
