One Goal, One Community: Moving Beyond Bullying & Empowering for Life

One Goal, One Community: Moving Beyond Bullying & Empowering for Life Sign the pledge and join the movement to move beyond Bullying!

The “One Goal, One Community” program was established in April 2010 at Bond University in Australia by Associate Professor of Management and Director of the Bond University LEAP Research Centre, Dr. Amy Kenworthy, a Bentley alum. It was then when Sarah Benson joined the “One Goal” team during her education abroad semester at Bond University as a Service-Learning representative. Both Kenworthy and

Benson have been dedicated to program growth and development to spread awareness of the bullying epidemic. Upon Sarah Benson’s return to Bentley she began leading the charge to replicate the program internationally. Since then, "One Goal" has continued to grow locally, reaching over 5000 students and adults in the Massachusetts community.

Anderson Cooper's AC360° followed the families from last year's film, Bully, and created a followup documentary, The Bully Effect: http://bit.ly/Y4Fl9C

Let's hope that the use of the film and the curriculum spread across the nation so that the epidemic of bullying ends with our generation. Share this to help us spread awareness about this serious issue.

Ways to STOP BULLYING at Bentley (from Bentley students): Be kinder than you feel, Speak up when you see/hear someone bullying another person, Don't be afraid to take a stance - the person might re-think the next time they are going to bully someone, Focus on the good in every person and praise their differences, Be more understanding and accepting of others, Advocate and respect the differences of others, Don't be a bystander, Realize the harm and pain of being bullied and want to stop it and want to change it, Be role models by preventing bullying and stopping people if you see them being a bully, Be kind and respectable, Don't cyber bully, Smile and be nice, Voice your appreciation for someone - not your criticism (ie. tell someone they look pretty), Accept differences, Be supportive of others, Focus on everyone's good traits & laugh a lot, Encourage/host events that bring the grade levels together, Stop hazing, Stand up for people being bullied. Thanks Bentley!!!
