📚 A new chapter for our Multicultural Books Initiative!

After five incredible years, we’re saying a heartfelt THANK YOU to Janet Schmidt and Jill Takacs for their leadership in helping MBI donate 1,268 diverse books in total across Walpole’s four elementary schools! ❤️

We’re excited to welcome our new MBI leadership team:

📖 Allison Senerchia — Team Leader
Allison is joining MBI with 15 years of experience teaching kindergarten and 2nd grade. She’ll facilitate our monthly MBI team, helping guide the selection and review of books throughout the school year. She brings a passion for inclusion, education, and lifelong learning to the role.

📚 Lindsey Connolly — Program Coordinator
Lindsey is an English teacher and avid reader who has called Walpole home for 11 years. She’ll help coordinate the ordering and distribution of MBI books to our four elementary schools. She’s passionate about helping kids discover books that reflect their own experiences while opening the door to other cultures and perspectives.

🌎 Kate Czaplinksi — Program Coordinator
Kate joined MBI because she believes books are a powerful way for children to explore different cultures, identities, abilities, lived experiences, and perspectives. She’ll work alongside Lindsey to coordinate the logistics of getting MBI books into our schools.

📝 Julia Sullivan — Newsletter Coordinator
Julia has been creating our MBI newsletter for the past year, sharing monthly book selections and helpful teaching resources with Walpole teachers and staff. We’re excited to officially introduce her and grateful to have her continuing in this role!

We’re getting ready to start planning Be Inclusive’s 2026 Diwali Celebration, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make this year’s celebration another meaningful and joyful event for our community! The event is scheduled for Saturday October 24th from 4-7 PM.

There are two ways to get involved:
