What a fantastic way to wrap up an incredible day at FORE! Education! ⛳️

We were thrilled to see such a wonderful turnout at the 19th Hole Reception, where golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community members came together to celebrate and support our students.

We are excited to share that FORE! Education raised an all-time high of $58,201 for our schools! Thank you to all our sponsors, players, and volunteers who made this incredible achievement possible.

It was a beautiful day on the Rossmoor Dollar Ranch course, filled with great golf, generous hole sponsors who kept golfers fed and hydrated, amazing raffle prizes, and plenty of fun along the way. A special shout-out to the Las Lomas Girls Varsity Golf Team, who helped raise $7,668 for WCEF’s Endowment Fund through the McConnell-Woodhead Endowment Hole.

A very special thank you to our incredible event chairs, Joanna Grossman and Lisa Van Deusen. Your talent, leadership, and dedication are truly unmatched. Over the past five years, you have helped build FORE! Education into one of WCEF’s most successful and beloved community events.

Thank you to Rossmoor Walnut Creek Golf Course for hosting our tournament for the fifth year and for providing such a beautiful setting for this special community event.

Thank you as well to our Reception Sponsor, Farid Harrison and Family, along with Renee White, Beem, Canyon Club Brewery, and the many volunteers who helped create such a memorable 19th Hole Reception.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Walnut Creek schools. Together, we are investing in opportunities for more than 5,100 local students and helping ensure that every student has access to the programs that enrich their education.

LAS LOMAS ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

From Walnut Creek to the world stage, congratulations to Las Lomas alum Savannah Louie on her incredible journey and achievements.

Savannah first dreamed of competing on Survivor while she was still a student at LLHS. Fourteen years later, she returned to that dream and became the winner of Survivor 49, earning the title of Sole Survivor and a $1 million prize.

Before her reality television success, Savannah built a career as a broadcast journalist and news anchor, demonstrating the determination, resilience, and work ethic that began right here in Walnut Creek.

Savannah’s story is a powerful reminder that big dreams often begin in our local classrooms. We are proud to celebrate a Las Lomas Alumni who turned perseverance into success and continues to inspire the next generation of students.

A special thank you to Walnut Creek City Lifestyle for featuring Savannah in their June issue and sharing her inspiring hometown story with our community.

“I was so excited to vote today that I showed up a day early.”

That perfectly sums up how much this community cares about our schools.

As a longtime Walnut Creek parent and WCEF Co-President, Lacie Brown knows firsthand how strong schools strengthen our entire community. They attract families, create connections, and provide opportunities that help our students thrive.

Tomorrow is Election Day, and there is still time to make your voice heard.

If you haven’t mailed your ballot, you can still vote in person.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our students, teachers, and schools throughout this campaign.

See you at the polls.

Thank you Ace Hardware Downtown Walnut Creek for supporting WCSD & LL schools.

We’re rounding up again for Walnut Creek Schools in the month of June! 📚🎒

Many people assume that high property values here in Walnut Creek mean well-funded schools, but that’s simply not the case. In reality, the Walnut Creek School District and Las Lomas High School are among the lowest-funded districts in California. Even with generous local support, per-pupil funding remains significantly below that of most other comparable California districts.

Every donation supports a well-rounded education. From elementary art, music, and science lab, to middle school electives and high school college readiness, to smaller classes and wellness initiatives. 🎨🔬

What a way to close out the year.

Together, WCEF reached an incredible milestone: $1.6 million raised to support 5,100 students across our district.

This achievement did not happen overnight. It was built through years of dedication, leadership, volunteerism, and a shared belief that every student deserves access to exceptional educational opportunities.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also celebrate the people behind it. Thank you to our Executive Board, Advisors, Trustees, Site Representatives, staff, donors, sponsors, volunteers, educators, families, and community partners who make this work possible.

A special thank you to our outgoing Board members whose leadership, service, and commitment have helped shape WCEF and strengthen its impact for students. Your contributions will be felt for years to come, and you will always be part of the WCEF family.

To our returning Board members, thank you for continuing to lead with passion, generosity, and purpose. Together, this Board helped grow WCEF from raising approximately $900,000 annually to $1.6 million today.

And heartfelt gratitude to Executive Director Kiroun Saluja and Database Manager Alison McDaniel. Your dedication, expertise, and tireless work behind the scenes are essential to WCEF’s success.

Thank you for an extraordinary year. The impact of your time, talent, and generosity will continue to benefit students for years to come.

California schools could receive additional funding under Governor’s May Revision—but it’s important to remember that this is not the final state budget.

While the proposal includes encouraging investments in public education, funding decisions are still being negotiated, and long-term challenges facing school districts remain.

So what can we do in the meantime?
