S4R is excited to announce our newest board member: Shauna Nason-Liberty. We’ve been lucky enough to work with Shauna in the past and are honored to have her officially join the board. Shauna has taken the time to write a few words introducing herself:

“I am 43 years young, and have been clean for 9 years and 4 months. I have 2 children. My daughter is now 20 years old and my son, who is my youngest, will be 18 in a week. They are my world and a huge part of me getting and staying clean.

I am active in my recovery and service. I am proud of the work S4R does for recovering addicts and the community, and the countless lives they have helped over the years.

Nearing the end of my addiction I had become homeless, with a conviction
record and lost my children to CFS. I went to Wollam, a recovery center for women, and subsequently Shepherds Gate, then Shelter Inc. Since getting clean I have gotten custody of my children back, went back to school to become a surgical technologist, and have been a self supporting member of society ever since.

My life clean has not always been easy, but it has definitely been blessed and
worth every moment. I hope this has given you an idea of me as a person, an addict and a mother.”
