Just picked up some more rescued Turkey eggs, the nest was hit in an alfalfa field. Sadly two other nests were also hit in the same field, but all eggs were destroyed and both hens were killed. The hen from this nest made it, so hopefully she can still re-nest! No eggs broke either luckily. There's a couple dents to patch, but they should make it!

If you are in northeast South Dakota and hit a duck, pheasant, or turkey nest while haying, please pick up the eggs and give me a call at (605) 670-1147! It only takes a minute to give them a chance, and I'll come pick them up from you right in the field.

This was a big clutch, there are 16 eggs!

Is anyone in or near Bancroft today that could help transport some rescued pheasant eggs from there to here, or at least closer? They're hatching so I need to get them as soon as possible!

ETA - Got the eggs! Thank you so much, Sarah Olson!!!

This might be a long shot, but does anyone from our area happen to be in or near Yankton today? I just got a call from a guy there that hit a pheasant nest. That's way too far for me to try and go unfortunately right now, but I'd love to try and save it if anyone can get it closer!

Is anyone in the Wilmot/Summit/Webster area today that would be able to help transport seven rescued baby wood ducks to me? They're currently in Wilmot, but that's a little on the far range for me and I've been under the weather the past couple days. Even just getting them closer like to the Webster area would help! Thanks!

Haying season is starting! If you hit a nest while haying your fields, please pick up any eggs and call me right away at (605) 670-1147!

I try to stick to about a 40-mile radius around Wallace, but I have a handful of volunteers that may be able to help if you're further away. I'm also always in need of more volunteers willing to help pick up and transport eggs! If that's something you're interested in, please comment or send me a message.

I've been getting calls for rescued eggs or ducklings every day for the past two and a half weeks. Things are getting busy!

Please share this post! The more people who know about Second Chance Flight, the more nests and ducklings we can save this spring! If you know a farmer, sharing this post could help get our number to someone who needs it.
I am a federally and state permitted egg salvage program, licensed to rescue eggs or ducklings from all migratory waterfowl nests destroyed or going to be, as well as state managed gamebird eggs and chicks (pheasants/turkeys/grouse/etc).

If you're not local but support our effort, please consider donating. Every donation goes directly toward rescuing, incubating, raising, and releasing ducklings that otherwise wouldn't survive. We're already up to almost 400 rescued eggs and ducklings this season, and every donation helps ensure we can continue answering the next call.

Donations can be made through our website at https://www.secondchanceflight.com/.
