While election day is still a few weeks away, there's plenty of time to make sure your voice is heard. Please vote YES to the renewal of Fire Protection District No. 4's service charge.

This is not a new service charge, this is the renewal of the same service charge that has been in place since 1990, and has not gone up in that time. With the exponential growth that our area has seen, along with the rising costs of all the equipment needed to operate, now more than ever is a crucial time for us. The renewal of this service fee is estimated to bring in around $825,000 dollars per year.

Remember when you get to the polls today, tomorrow, or on election day: for less than what it costs a typical family of 3 to have dinner for an evening at a restaurant, you have provided support to the fire department for a whole year.

The cost of firefighter safety equipment has more than doubled.

In 2010, an MSA Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) cost approximately $4,000. In 2025, a new MSA G1 SCBA costs approximately $9,000.

SCBAs are critical life-saving equipment that allow firefighters to work in smoke-filled and hazardous environments. As equipment costs continue to rise, LPFPD4 remains committed to protecting both our firefighters and our community.

From Walker and Watson down to Port Vincent, your local firefighters are answering more emergency calls than ever before.
While our communities have grown exponentially, this specific LPFPD4 User Fee has been $32 a year since 1990. On June 27, we are asking you to vote to RENEW this existing measure.
No Price Increase: This is a pure renewal of the $32 fee, NOT a new tax.
