Lions plastic recycling continues and we have public drop off bins located at the DMV office and we have a bin INSIDE the WACC. If you have plastic and cannot get it to these sites contact me: Ann McLarty at 715-821-1761 and I will have it pick up for you. We appreciate your efforts. We also Thank The Walker Hardware, Red River River Event Center, Northern Lights Casino for their ongoing help in recycling as well as Hiawatha Beach who gave us good amount of plastic when they reopened! Remember plastic table cloths are all recyclable and I did recycle all the tablecloths from the recent Chili cook off.
In addition to plastic we recycle used ink cartridges, eyeglasses, and used hearing aids. Drop offs for those are Hope Lutheran Church and Walker Eye Center. Or again, notify me and I will get them from you.
We will be hosting our Annual Honors Banquet for graduating WHA seniors on May 7th at WHA school in the commons area and we will be giving out the $100 awards for outstanding student in each area of study. Also graduating Seniors Lions are accepting applications for our $1000 scholarships as well and applications can be picked up in the counselors office.
Our next monthly Lions meeting will be on April 8th at 6 pm at the Bayside Bar and Grill...As usual we invite all visiting Lions to join us as well as any person who would like to know what "Lionism" is all about. We are a "service organization". We have been chartered for 46 years in Walker and we do have 2 charter members still in the club and they are Steve Bilben and Dave Holk!
So if you have the second Wednesday of the month free and would like to enjoy the hospitality of the gang at Bayside and the Lions feel free to join us.
