1,000 BLESSING BAGS. ONE YEAR OF SFIA. A WHOLE COMMUNITY SHOWED UP. ❤️
On October 17th, we came together to assemble 1,000 blessing bags for our community as we celebrated one year of Sonia’s Faith in Action!
From our youngest volunteer at just 3 years old to our Howard students who showed up at 6 AM on Homecoming weekend 🫡, this day was a reminder that service has no age limit, and making a difference takes all of us!
What started as a way to honor Aunt Sonia’s legacy continues to grow through every volunteer, partner, sponsor, and supporter who believes in putting faith into action. One year down, and we’re just getting started!

A huge thank you to Soapbox for donating 1,000 shampoo and conditioner packets to our 1,000 Blessing Bag campaign!
Because of this gift, 1,000 individuals across the DMV, from unhoused teens to those in shelters and tent encampments, will receive a little more dignity this season. Something as simple as clean hair care isn't a small thing when you don't have access to it; it's a moment of normalcy and care.
Every packet goes straight into the hands of someone who needs it. Thank you, Soapbox, for partnering with us to turn compassion into action. 🙏

On October 17, Sonia’s Faith in Action will celebrate our one-year anniversary with a Day of Service, assembling 1,000 Blessing Bags filled with hygiene essentials and winter gear for individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship throughout the DMV.

As we prepare for our October 17 Day of Service, these much-needed winter essentials will be included in the 1,000 Blessing Bags we’re assembling for individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship throughout the DMV. Celebrating 1 year of Faith in Action! 🎉 One year of faith. One day of service. A lifetime of impact.

This winter we’re on a mission to assemble 1,000 Blessing Bags for our community! Each bag will be filled with personal hygiene items, winter hats, gloves, and warm socks. Bags will be distributed through our partner agencies: DC Coalition for the Homeless, Lifestyles of Maryland, and Latin American Youth Center.

Today, we made the decision not to participate in the Race to Cure Sarcoma due to the unhealthy air quality conditions across the DMV.

The health and safety of our team, families, and supporters must always come first.

While we won’t be at today’s event, our commitment to the sarcoma community remains as strong as ever. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, encouraged us, shared our mission, and stood alongside us in support of the Sarcoma Foundation of America. Your generosity and dedication help bring hope to families affected by sarcoma and move us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Thank you for standing with us. Together, we’re making a difference, even from afar. 💛
