Since August, seven of us have shared our time, creativity, and love for Hawaiʻi’s Plantation Village. In just a few months together, we learned more about our roots, grew as storytellers, and made memories we’ll carry beyond our time here 😌

As young adults from Oʻahu, seeing our cultures and family histories reflected in the village made this work personal. Every post was an opportunity to help someone else find that connection too 🫂

As our youth core social media team comes to a close, we’re grateful to Loretta Chen for welcoming us and trusting us to help share the village’s stories. To everyone who watched, shared, commented, or visited because of our content! Mahalo for being part of this chapter ❤️

Our friends at Waipahu Soto Zen Temple Taiyoji are having an Open House this coming Sunday, October 11, 2026. It's a great opportunity to learn about some of the cultural classes being offered by the temple ... many of which were brought over to Hawai'i by the Japanese and Okinawan immigrants. Along with the Open House, there will be the annual Fujinkai Bazaar which features handcrafted items by temple members and baked goods to name a few. Please see flyer below for more information.
