Lake Montauk's East Creek, Little Northwest Creek, and Sagg Pond reported high levels of enterococcus bacteria.

This week, all ocean beaches reported low levels of enterococcus bacteria.
Big Fresh Pond & Beach reported medium levels of enterococcus bacteria this week, while Old Ponquogue Bridge—Marine Park, Mecox Bay, and Sagg Pond reported high levels of enterococcus bacteria.

It’s that time of year again: the montaukbrewco anniversary cleanup is right around the corner! 🍺🌊

Join us on June 27th from 10am - 1pm for our Friend of the Ocean’s 14th birthday!

Start at the Brew Barn (62 S Erie Ave., Montauk), check-in & get set up with cleaning equipment before heading down to South Edison beach, removing a few pounds of trash, and returning to the Brew Barn to claim your prize 🍻

The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act (PRRIA) would:
• Reduce plastic pollution
• Cut climate emissions from fossil-fuel-based plastics
• Save taxpayers millions
• Protect public health

But industry lobbyists are fighting hard to stop it in Albany.

Last month, Surfrider Eastern Long Island joined more than 180 surfers, scientists, and policymakers in advocating for federal policies that protect our coasts and oceans as a part of the 10th annual Coastal Recreation Hill Day! 🌊

We met with Long Island's representatives in Congress to discuss:
1) Protecting funding 🦈
2) funded water quality monitoring on our coastlines 💧
3) The threat of new offshore drilling and how to stop it ❌
