The recent Kona Low storms caused severe flooding at Hui Mahi'ai 'Āina, but our community showed up in the masses and was able to finish cleaning up the affected homes in the area. Mahalo to everyone who volunteered, donated supplies, and brought food to support the recovery efforts!
Residents of Hui Mahi'ai 'Āina are still recovering after the floods destroyed much of what they owned. If you’re able to, please consider donating to support them! Hui Mahi'ai 'Āina is a homeless community program in Waimānalo that provides village style housing, essential facilities, and long-term support for those facing hard times.
Today through Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Kailua United Methodist Church (1110 Kailua Rd, Kailua, HI 96734) is collecting donations to support Hui Mahi'ai 'Āina. Items accepted include clothing, shoes, blankets, pillows, towels, and canned goods. All items that cannot be used will be passed onto others.
For more information, please contact Kailua United Methodist Church at [email protected].
Mahalo to everyone who has generously given their time, money, and resources to support our community’s recovery efforts.
